We have all the holiday-themed events and more for you to enjoy. The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture celebrates Kwanzaa during the center’s Wednesday Night Live series. In past years, this free event has included family-friendly activities such as a candle-making workshop, dance class and informational session on the history and traditions of Kwanzaa. Kick off Chanukah with the annual menorah lighting at Matthews Town Hall Library, presented by Chabad of Charlotte.

Charlotte Motor Speedway Christmas
You’ll be dazzled by dozens of light displays, large Christmas trees, dancing lights, and a Christmas Village in the center. Here, your kids can meet with Santa, grab food at the food court, roast marshmallows, watch a Christmas movie on the big screen, and enjoy some extra magical light displays. We visited in 2023 and were blown away by how amazing this setup really is.

Truist Field, home to the Charlotte Knights, transforms into a winter wonderland. Nearly every part of the stadium, from the concourse to the seats and baseball diamond, are decorated with colorful lights. Gingerbread Lane is a neat experience at the Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte. It’s one of our fanciest resorts, in one of our fanciest neighborhoods. Typically this would be where presidents stay when they come to visit Charlotte.
